Go forth and be witty!

A place to…Converse…Be Witty…AND…R-E-S-I-S-T!

Really….terrible (A post in honor of Gumdrops)

Is it really necessary to join the chorus on this one?  The Orient Express (or train wreck most commonly know as BrBrititney Spears) looked tired, scared and well a bit large for the outfit she was wearing last night during her "comeback performance" at the MTV music awards.

After watching her performance and sleeping on it, there are a couple of things I’m wondering this morning (with the help of a few good movie/TV quotes)…

1.  "Did she fall down and crack her little head on the pavement?"  – Miranda Priestly

2.  "What was that crazy (wo)man doing up there?" – Dorothy Zbornak

3.  "Mr. DeMille, I’m ready for my close-up." – Norma Desmond

Many of you probably have no clue who Norma Desmond is.  I suggest (and recommend because it’s a fantastic movie) you look up or watch Sunset Blvd.  Skip to the end and watch as the crazy lady exits using the quote above.  There my friends you will see the connection.

In the end, Britney’s performance can be summed up in two words…."poor thing."  Maybe she should take a page out of her former BFF, Paris Hilton’s playbook.  Release an album, promote it, but don’t sing live anywhere. Let’s face it, the song really isn’t all that bad…come one admit it…you know you like it.  It’s vintage Britney. But she should do herself and the world a favor and give up the live performances for….ever. (For the benefit of those who didn’t get to see her sleepwalk, tumble, giggle and what not, feel free to watch it.  But you have been warned.)

As for the rest of the show…yeah, I’m done.

Oh, there is one more thing.  Kanye West has vowed to never return to the MTV music awards after singing the same damn song for two hours, "waving his arms like he just don’t care" and after being shut out of the awards.

Some kindly advice — brother, take a Xanax and go sit in the corner.  DAMN!
