Repartee Room

Go forth and be witty!

A place to…Converse…Be Witty…AND…R-E-S-I-S-T!

Has EVERYONE Lost Their #$%@^#@&!! Mind?

After 3-days of hell, I decided I needed to take a break…have some lunch and recollect my thoughts.

Before deciding on what to eat, I took a look at the headlines of the day.  Let's just say if the last Knight from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade were here, he'd say, "He chose…poorly."

Two things stick out…

Disruptions continue at Town Hall Meeting

All I can say to this is maybe Bush/Cheney were right after all.  Make a plan, don't give any details about it, don't debate it, just ram it down everyone's throat and tell them it's good for them.  Clearly that's the only way to go.

How ridiculous have these "protests" gotten?  Not only are the people NOT there to listen, their sole purpose is to continue to spread misinformation and prevent people from learning the true facts about all the health-care proposals before Congress. Protest all you want, it's your right, just don't pretend to be doing it because you think it's the right thing.  The message from the Republican's has been clear for sometime — defeat health-care reform at all costs to "break" the President.  Nevermind the fact that it's the millions of people who don't have health-care or have crappy health-care who will continue to suffer at their hands.  Breaking the President is the top priority.  How very American.

The Truest of Dumbasses

Truth be told, someone informed me about this story so I went looking for it after watching several "protest" videos.

Just when you think he has said every stupid thing imaginable, Jesse Jackson comes through in the clutch.

Jackson has apparently taken up the cause to see that Michael Vick gets a job in the National Football League, for which I have no problem with. The man is entitled to try and reclaim the promising career he threw away like a dumbass.

What I have a problem with is the fact that Rev."I Can't Keep My Foot Out of My Mouth" Jackson is comparing the difficulty Vick is having in getting a team to sign him just after he got out of prison to the likes of Jackie Robinson.  Jackson's warped view of the situation is – like Robinson, Vick has to find an owner willing to make a "controversial signing."

Makes perfect sense right…they're both black…both incredible talents…there's just that one issue of Vick being a convicted felon…whereas Jackson's problem was simply the color of his skin.  Other than that…it's a flawless argument.

If I were Rachael Robinson, I'd invite Jesse to lunch, put out an incredible spread of great tasting foods, greet him, slap him hard enough to knock the taste out of his mouth then leave and tell him to enjoy his lunch.

But that's just me…
