Your tragic and unjust death still haunts many of us. But your spirit lives on today as legislation that FINALLY expands the law of the land to include crimes based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability is on it's way to the White House for the President's signature.
This law will not bring you back to your family and friends. Nor will it ensure that others won't be subjected the heinous act of hate that took your life. But it will ensure that crimes committed by those who dare to show their true colors will no longer be tolerated.
