I've been laughing at and loving all of the responses to my three-way tie for third song of the year. Here are a few select responses…
BH– As you like say REALLY and prbably would if someone else did this you couldn't just pick one song and call it a day? (You're probably right LOL)
Mike – you couldn't do the list then have a an honorable mention or something? doesn't seems far to have 3 songs for number 3. (I actually already have a few songs that fit in that category that I was thinking of listing after the fact.)
Anyway, thanks again for all the great questions and comments.
Can you believe there are only two songs left?!?
As a reminder — the criteria for my selections are basted on three simple facts…
1. How many months did a song make it to my monthly iPhone playlist;
2. How many plays does it have in my iTunes;
3. The song must have been released no later than October of the previous year.
Here's a recap of the countdown thus far…
10. Beyonce 'Single Ladies'
9. Madonna 'Miles Away'
8. Lily Allen "The Fear'
7. Mariah Carey "Obsessed'
6. Whitney Houston "Million Dollar Bill"
5. Agnes "Release Me"
4. Lady Gaga "Paparazzi"
3. Black Eyed Peas "I Got a Feeling" / Cascada "Evacuate the Dancefloor"/ Madonna "Celebration"
And then there were two…
So, I've pretty much taken then suspense out of the number 2 song by putting the title of the song in the headline, but that's OK.
This song just rocks my socks! I have listeened to it at least 5 times a day since it first dropped and I have yet to get tired of it.
She is clearly the artist of the year and I'm still kicking myself for not making the effort to get a ticket to her concerts here in NY next month. But don't fool yourself…I haven't given up on trying to get a ticket yet.
Now to someone who loves remixes as much as I do, the fact that this song appears on my playlist twice (and has for the past 3 months), speaks volumes to how much I love the original version and dj Dark Intensity's "Revenge Remix" - http://bit.ly/81PxMd
All kidding aside, I have to admit it was tough picking between this song and the song I'll reveal tomorrow as my number 1 song of the year…and I didn't do so until 2 days ago. I will of course explain how I made the final decision tomorrow.
For now, here's the number 2 song on my best songs of 2009… Lady Gaga "Bad Romance."
