Don’t Buy It!! (UPDATED) #DADT

UPDATE: As you know by now, the Republican filibuster was successful is denying a debate on the bill yesterday. What you may not know is that Sen. John McCain, who passionately led the filibuster — based on a belief that the Senate should wait until the Department of Defense completes it's report (survey) on the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy — has ALREADY switched gears.

So like the car salesman I called him yesterday, McCain said the following after the successful filibuster…

''Obviously, I need to know how this survey was conducted, I need to know how
complete it was, I need to know all of the aspects of it, and that's how I've
always operated and how I'll continue to operate.''

His words…IN FULL CONTEXT.

So McCain is ALREADY changing the game plan in the event the report (survey) doesn't say what he hopes it will say.

I'm shocked. STUNNED even.

A car salesman (most, not all…especially those who are Canadian 😉 will do or say just about anything to sell a car.

The same can be said for Senate Republican's who are now up in arms that Democrats are 'forcing' them to vote on a critical piece of human rights legislation later today.

John McCain and Mitch McConnell want the American people to believe that if the Defense Department's report on ending the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy, due in December, recommends it's termination, they'll be all for it.

DON'T YOU BELIEVE IT!!!

It's yet another stall tactic by Republican's who HISTORICALLY have found ways of stalling human rights legislation.

Get on the phone!! Call your Senators!!! Remind them that the Republicans, who are so concerned with maintaining a strong and viable military, continue to weaken it by denying good Americans who happen to be gay, from defending the country they love…even though they continue to be treated as a second class citizens.
