2010’s Catchy Song of the Year

CJ's 2010 Lists – Top 10 Songs of 2010 — #9

You know the drill…over the next 10 days (I'll be skipping Christmas Day), I'm posting my top songs of 2010.

As a reminder — the criteria for my selections are basted on three simple facts…

1. How many months did a song make it to my monthly iPhone playlist;

2. How many plays does it have in my iTunes;

3. The song must have been released no later than October of the previous year.

The list continues…

This was the official "catchy" song of the year. By that I mean it was the song that was…

A) EVERYWHERE this year (movies, TV shows and dozens of commercials)

and

B) "That song" that you found yourself humming/singing without realizing it.

A really great friend of mine, Houston, introduced me to this song, and well, it would be safe to say he LOVED this song. But trust me when I say, it didn't take long before I shared his love for this song.

In fact, it was one of those songs I knew instantly my friend Eileen would love, and I couldn't wait to tell her about it. But alas, I was too late. She already knew about it and of course loved it.

Song number 9 on my countdown of 2010 songs is Train's 'Hey, Soul Sister.'

  1. Awww. So honored that I made it into your #9 description. But just to be clear, this doesn’t make me Top 40 Pop or anything.

  2. I would never suggest such a thing! I’m just glad there’s a song in the countdown this year that you actually know AND like!
