CJ's 2010 Lists – Top 10 Songs of 2010 — #2

You know the drill…over the next 3 days,  I'm posting my top songs of 2010. Tomorrow I'll post song of the songs just just missed out this year along with the comments I promised to post several days ago. On Friday, I'll post my number 1 song for 2010.

As a reminder — the criteria for my selections are basted on three simple facts…

1. How many months did a song make it to my monthly iPhone playlist;

2. How many plays does it have in my iTunes;

3. The song must have been released no later than October of the previous year.

Here's the countdown thus far…

10. Kelly Rowland (feat. David Guetta) 'Commander'

  9.  Train 'Hey, Soul Sister'

  8.  Alex Cornish 'Don't Hold Me Back' & Christina Aguilera 'Bound to You'

  7.  Bastien Laval 'Restlessness (Wendel Kos edit)

  6.  Rihanna 'Hard' & 'Only Girl in the World'

  5.  Shontelle 'Impossible (Riddler remix)'

  4.  Lady Gaga 'Alejandro'

  3.  Edward Maya (feat.Vika Jigulina) 'Stereo Love'

The List Continues….

Always the bridesmaid? For the second year in a row, Gaga has dominated my top 5 songs of the year with two songs, but once again she's fallen short of the top spot.

Unlike last year, it wasn't even close. My number one song was the only 'new' song to appear on my monthly playlist all 12 months. More on that Friday.

This song brought together two of the biggest female artists of the modern day era. It was a powerhouse duet, one to the likes we haven't seen for sometime. And their performance did not disappoint.

The video was quite popular with it's Thelma & Louise-like ending and teased us all for a possible re-teaming in the future.

As with most good songs, there are dozens of remixes and mash-ups. Some good, some not so good.

My friend Nick would not be pleased if I failed to mentioned the most unique of all the mash-ups. A mixture of Gaga and Beyonce's voices with the masterful guitar cords of Metallica.

If you have have yet to hear this fantastic mash-up, be my guest…Telephone vs. Enter Sandman

It's good. But here's the version that I love. This year's number 2 song on the countdown is Lady Gaga and Beyonce 'Telephone (Kaskade remix)'
