I believe the idiocy of the impending new Congress, led by a band of (grumpy) misguided and spiteful Republicans, who appear hell bent on defunding the poor in order to fund the rich, is the cause for my constant craving of the The West Wing of late.
As I read story after story about how Republicans plan to try to defund healthcare and financial reform (both which would only benefit their biggest donors while further crippling our economy and adding to our out of control national debt) I'm reminded of a terrific CJ Cregg quote.
In order for President Obama to win reelection next year, he is going to need to attempt to work with these same Republicans who have made it clear there is nothing more important to them than defeating him in 2012.
That being the case, the American people will have to choose between a leader (who I admit, still has a way to go to becoming a proven leader) or those "perceived by the American people to be irresponsible, untrustworthy, partisan, ambitious and thirsty for the limelight. Am I crazy or is this not a job for the U.S. House of Representatives?"
Thank you Claudia Jean Cregg!
