I admit freely that I am two-faced when it comes to the great Ronald Reagan.
My right side dislikes — immensely — his economic policy, which the members of his party try to rewrite the history of on a daily basis. It was GREAT if you were rich and could afford a roof over your head. For many others…not so much.
My left side appreciates the way he was able to communicate with the country on various issues — and in times of crisis (such as the tragedy of the Challenger explosion), AND marveled at his ability to find common ground with Democrats when the time came to get the job done.
I have no doubt that in today’s world of Republicanism, which consists of a group nasty little do nothings [children] who have no clear grasp of how Government is supposed to work, the great Ronald Reagan would have a VERY difficult time getting nominated for President by the party he so loved (even though they all like to pretend they come from his mold).
Below is an ad the Democratic Committee is currently running that uses excepts of a Radio Address Reagan made in 1987 regarding Congress’ inability to do its job in raising the debt ceiling at the time. In the speech, Reagan sites many of the things President Obama has said over the past few weeks that Republicans have BLASTED him for at will. (Like I said, if Reagan ran for President today…)
Watch and listen to a Republican, who while I disagree with him on many issues, was able to act like an adult…
