Helping the Needy is a Violation of the Constitution?

There are few people in this world that I take the time to waste my breath on by calling them an asshole. Ralph Reed has always been at the top of that list.

In this video short, Mr. Reed professes that “we” have somehow lost our way.

So basically, Mr. Reed is saying that our Government, which is elected BY the PEOPLE to SERVE the PEOPLE, is violating the Constitution and Declaration by helping those in need.

My question is this, what exactly do people like Ralph Reed expect the Government to do? If it’s not to directly help it’s citizens, then what?

Maybe if he could explain it in a way that makes sense, I wouldn’t be so hard on him. [Yeah, I couldn’t even write that without shaking my head]
