I’m not seeing a lot of the songs from your countdown this year. Did they just not make the cut? Peter R.
Well Peter, to be honest, my monthly playlists this past year contained a lot of songs that aren’t eligible. Each month I went to the well and selected songs that I’ve loved for a long time while sprinkling in some new ones. It was just that kind of year for me. But I’ve already started work on the January playlist, and it’s full of new stuff so we’ll see. Maybe this year was just a phase. Thanks for following!
I’m sure there is a reason like they are your favorite songs but why are A Little Respect and Enjoy the Silence at the end of each playlist? Kevin C.
You guessed it Kevin. Those are my favorite songs of all-time, so I put them at the end of each playlist.
Thanks for the questions and comments. Keep them coming!!
We’re inching closer to the end, though as Andrew P. put it, “There is only one song for 2011.” And he’s right. But until we get there, here’s the list thus far…
10. Til The World Ends – Britney Spears
9. Pumped Up Kicks – Foster the People
Indestructible – Robyn
Rolling in the Deep – Adele
8. What A Feeling – Alex Gaudino featuring Kelly Rowland
7. Someone Like You – Adele
6. Run the World (Girls) – Beyonce
5. Price Tag – Jessie J
I Wanna Go – Britney Spears
And the list continues…
This is by far one of the HOTTEST mash-up ever created, and thankfully it gives me the chance to get three additional songs on the countdown without having to list them separately.
By themselves, each of the songs in this brilliant mash-up, appeared on my monthly playlist at some point in 2011. But all that changed when the album VS5 hit the internet, as there was no need to list the seperately. 16-incredible tracks, one better than the next…and then there is this one. And let me tell you, as good as the other tracks are…great even…this one still tops them.
The mastermind behind the mash-up is Robin Skouteris. If you haven’t heard that name until now, you should educate yourself because the he is something special.
Song number 4 is Robin’s work of genius that pits Britney (I know, damn!!) vs. J-Lo vs. Rihanna. It’s the mother of all mash-ups featuring Hold it Against Me, On the Floor and S&M, and as you will see from the video, it is absolutely flawless.
Here is Against the Floor…
