Three days to go until the start of a new year…which means there are only three songs left!
Song number 3 is the only song to appear on my monthly playlist every month in 2011. And it is also the only song that appeared on last year’s countdown (at #8).
As I’ve said on numerous occasions, this is one of those rare songs that I’ve loved from the very first time I heard it. And my love for it hasn’t diminished in the least.
The singer of this song has a rather interesting year. She starred in her first feature film at the end of 2011 (this song is the ballad from that film); she mixed up the lyrics for the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, and she was one of the stars of the hit NBC reality series The Voice, which ironically will make it’s 2012 debut at the end of the Super Bowl.
Interesting year aside, her voice is the one true constant in her life. She is a singer in every sense of the word and a beautiful one at that.
Song number 3 was written for the motion picture Burlesque by the same person who performs it so beautifully, Ms. Christina Aguilera. The song is Bound to You
