Go forth and be witty!

A place to…Converse…Be Witty…AND…R-E-S-I-S-T!

It’s hard not to feel elated after last night’s victory for OUR country. I know some don’t see it that way, and for that, well, I’m sorry, but the rest of us have already shifted our focus to the governing that needs to be done. Republicans in the House and Senate have wasted the better part of the past two years blocking the progress of the country. Now is the time for the bickering to stop and for the work to begin.

While I’m not surprised in the least bit by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s response to the election results, I am hopeful that others in the Republican Party will begin to realize that honest bipartisanship is what the country needs and is now demanding.

The burden of this will fall to President Obama, who must once again reach across the aisle to forge political cooperation with the members of Congress for the good of the country.  Should they fail to meet him half way, they should take note of the consequences. Winning 8 (assuming the projections in Florida hold true) of the 9 battleground states, gives President Obama a unique mandate to assert his authority as the leader of the nation. It should also serve as notice to all who stand in his way out of spite or party loyalty, that there will be hell to pay in the next election cycle.

The country is tired of the stalemate and is ready to move on. One can only hope our leaders have gotten the message.

And for your musical enjoyment. 🙂
