I know it’s late…but hopefully you’ll like and understand why.
After years of ducking the challenge of listing my favorite songs of all-time, I have taken a first crack at a Top 40! This list was painstakingly difficult to come up with because I always knew this would be an impossible task for me…and it was! Without question, my favorite song of all-time is Erasure’s “A Little Respect” followed very closely by Depeche Mode’s ‘Enjoy the Silence,” but like those songs, there are many other that sir up the same type of euphoria when I hear them. How does one choose?? That has always been my dilemma…until now.
Listed below are the songs that cause me to pause when I hear them on the radio and/or press repeat when they pop up on my iPhone. Each song has a memory linked to it that instantly comes to mind the second I hear the first few bars. These memories run the gamut from my Mom and family, to my friends, past loves, high school, college, “firsts,” movies, TV show, vacations…you name it there’s a memory for it.
This list could easily have 100 more songs on it because for those who know me — they will be surprised at the ones that are missing. Somewhere down the line, I will make the effort to do a Top 100 songs, so I can detail them all, but in the meanwhile, I hope you enjoy my personal Top 40 songs of all times.
Thanks as always for reading and for your messages. I can’t wait to hear what you have to say about my selections.
