A realization towards equality

Of course it would have been nice as one of Mitt Romney’s top surrogates last year, had Senator Rob Portman embraced marriage equality for all. Nice…not realistic.

But it matters just as much today that he has evolved and publicly changed his stance on the issue of equality.

It [learning his son Will is gay] allowed me to think of this issue from a new perspective, and that’s of a Dad who loves his son a lot and wants him to have the same opportunities that his brother and sister would have — to have a relationship like Jane and I have had for over 26 years….

You see, it doesn’t matter how you come to the realization that EVERYONE is entitled to live with, love and/or marry the person they choose. What matters is that you come to it and stop fighting against it.
