CJ’s iPhone Playlist – July 2013: Summertime Madness

Happy Summer everyone!!

It’s been a whirlwind couple of months, but beach time, cookouts, evening walks and fun in the sun is back!

In honor of the return of summer, the songs for this month’s playlist are favorites from summer’s past and current. Hmm, does that sound right? Oh well, who cares. I’ve listed the years in which this songs were summer favorites of mine. In most cases, they match up with when they were released. A few were just summer discoveries like the Plain White T’s, Rhythm of Love and Jesse J’s Price Tag, both of which I discovered about a year after they were in the spotlight. Hey, even I miss a few good ones every now and then.

Lots and lots of newbies this month including the return of the incomparable Cher, Fall Out Boy, P!nk featuring Nate Ruess, a new mash-up from Robin Skouteris and my girl Lana Del Rey. Additionally, we have two absolute newbies to the playlist this month – The Mavericks and Miley Cyrus. The latter is shocking even to me. Last but certainly not least is the song that seems to be everyone’s jam this summer – Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines.
