One would think you might get tired of seeing proof that Republicans tend to stretch the truth — A LOT. I’ll let you know when I reach that point.
This brilliant document comes from Congressman Mark Takano (D-CA), who was a public schoolteacher for over 20 years. When Congressman Bill Cassidy (R-La.) began circulating a letter complaining about the Senate’s recently passed immigration reform bill, Rep. Takano took it upon himself to edit the letter.
In his edits, which you can see above, Rep. Takano marks up the letter in red ink, and provides constructive advice on how the letter could be stronger. He also makes suggestions including urging Rep. Cassidy to “include evidence” in stating his case.
This is a wonderful and refreshing effort in the ongoing battle of trying to showcase how Republicans in Congress have been treating the American people. And while I know this will fall mainly on deaf ears, because people just don’t seem to care as much as they should, I applaud Rep. Takano for taking the time to educate us all.
