CJ’s iPhone Playlist – August 2013 (The Dog Days of Summer)

How in the hell is it already August?? Well, it’s like I always say, once Memorial Day comes and goes, summer is over! Still, I hope everyone is having a great summer! If not…you better get to it!

This month we’re taking a long stroll on my musical roller coaster. There are lots of newbies, including Emeli Sandé, Olly Murs, Grouplove, Coco O., Ariana Grande, Imagine Dragons and Zedd all making their debuts on the playlist this month, as well as visits from some dear “old” friends including Siouxsie And The Banshees, Oasis, Squeeze, New Order, [sensing a theme?] and Dead or Alive. Sprinkle in a few jams including what is clearly the song of the summer “Blurred Lines” and Ellie Goulding’s newest single, “Burn” and we’ve got ourselves one hell of a hot playlist…if I do say so myself! By the way, it is duly noted that some of the songs from the “newbies” aren’t exactly new, but I always like to highlight when someone first appears on the playlist.
