Dating…

Dating is without a doubt a challenge.

You start out wild eyed and ready for the challenge and prospect of meeting someone great. If you’re lucky, you end up with a really great story.

And then there’s the other end of the spectrum…where you end up battered and drained.

In my lifetime I’ve experienced both ends of the spectrum. While there are some really great stories…there are equally not so great stories.

After a long pause, I recently re-entered the world of dating, and I have to admit, I’m already tired. No, I’m not going to kiss and tell…it’s just not my style. But I have quickly remembered why I stopped for so long.

Don’t get me wrong, I completely understand and appreciate that anything or anyone worth a damn, takes time and effort. But as Charlotte [from Sex and the City] once angrily said,

“I’ve been dating since I was fifteen. I’m exhausted. Where is he?”

OK, so I haven’t been searching for THAT long…it only feels like it.

Granted, she eventually found her happy ending. So I suppose there’s always hope for me.

I just need to find better writers.
