Yes, it’s cold. Yes, it’s winter. But when will it be Spring? That’s all I care about!!
Fresh off what I thought was a fantastic Grammys presentation this past Sunday night, I was inspired to complete the February playlist early. Well kind of. It’s mostly done. I just need one more song to reach my goal of 28 songs for the month of February…and I’m accepting all suggestions, so pass them along! [UPDATE: Thanks for all the responses. I got 229 suggestions, which is amazing! You guys rock! I decided to go with a song from someone close to home — someone who makes me smile and laugh every day. It doesn’t hurt that his selection, Life Your Life, by T.I. (ft. Rihanna) just happens to be a perfect kick-off to the R&B block featuring Mary J. Blige, Salt-n-Pepa and TLC. Somethings just work out. 🙂 ]
This month is loaded with newbies and music from all different genres including country, R&B, Pop, Rock and of course New Wave and Dance.
Newbies this month include Keith Urban’s Cop Car, the amazing Janelle Monae’s Dance Apocalyptic and Liv Warfield’s Why Do You Lie (both artists are making their debuts on the monthly playlist), Michael Bublé’s To Be Loved, 2011 X Factor (USA) runner-up Josh Krajcik’s, Let Me Hold You, Katy Perry’s, Dark Horse, Fitz & The Tantrums’, The Walker and the latest single from the incredible Lana Del Rey with an equally incredible performance of, Once Upon a Dream, from the soundtrack of Disney’s much anticipated upcoming movie “Maleficent.”
Also featured this month is one of the best mash-ups ever in my opinion. It’s not new (it was released in 2005), and has previously appeared on the playlist, but it came to mind recently, so I just had to include it. The song is one of many masterful mash-up mixes by Go Home Productions, which flawlessly blends The Doors classic hit Riders on the Storm with Blonde’s classic Rapture.
Don’t take my word for it, listen for yourself…
Rounding out the playlist this month, All Saints, Bruno Mars, Lorde, Imagine Dragons, Harry Connick, Jr., OMD, Duran Duran, an oldie but goody from Madonna, Britney Spears, Deborah Cox, Depeche Mode and a new rework of my all-time favorite song A Little Respect by Isaac Junkie, featuring Erasure’s Andy Bell.
The playlist is available via Spotify. Feel free to listen along and/or subscribe to it by clicking here – February.
Thanks as always…for reading, following and sending me your suggestions and comments!
