CJ’s iPhone Playlist – October 2014

As promised, I completed the October playlist early…to make up for the super late September posting.

I’m not sure I can place a label on this month’s list. There are quite a few newbies from various genres including alternative/indie  — Smallpools, The 1975, straight up pop — Taylor Swift, Meghan Trainor (yes, All About That Bass has finally found its way onto the playlist) and Ed Sheeran and a “Dream Pop” (what the hell is “dream pop”) number from the deliciously talented Lana Del Rey. Toss in a few classics from Billy Joel, Elton John and The Beatles, oldies but goodies from MadonnaCassie and No Doubt and a small but fun New Wave block and you have this month’s eclectic playlist. Also included is this month’s spotlight song, the first to be released from the upcoming Hunger Games Mocking Jay part 1 soundtrack, Yellow Flicker Beat by Lorde.

Feel free to listen along and/or subscribe to this month’s playlist via Spotify – October 2014

Thanks as always for your suggestions, comments and most of all caring about what I listen to!
