As I write this, we are 18-days away from Spring, so you beat your sweet ass I’m REAL glad to greet March with open arms. Granted, this winter is showing signs it’s going to stick with us until the very end, but at least the light at the end of the tunnel…is within touching distance!!
But enough about the weather. How about some music!!!
This is the biggest playlist of the year thus far, and its packed with newbies…old and new.
It’s a bit of a New Age month, with lots and lots of songs by newly discovered bands/performers (thanks Ei!!) including Twin Shadow, Vaults, Grimes and The Wombats. Also making their way on the monthly playlist for the first time – Vance Joy and Saint Motel. Additionally, while I’ve had no previous desire to jump on the 50 Shades bandwagon, be it book or movie, the soundtrack from the movie is beyond fantastic!! Three songs from the soundtrack have found their way on the playlist this month including “One Last Night” (Vaults), “I Put a Spell on You” (Annie Lennox) and Ellie Goulding’s amazing new song “Love Me Like You Do.”
Other newbies finding their way on the list this month – Fall Out Boy, Imagine Dragons and Family of the Year with the theme song from the movie Boyhood, “Hero.” Finally, the Queen [aka Madonna] makes her triumphant return to the monthly playlist (like she’s ever been forgotten), with her new single “Living for Love.”
Sprinkled about the playlist this month — Kelly Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song,” which I still can’t get enough of, Faith Hill’s classic “There You’ll Be,” Genesis’ “Land of Confusion,” a remix of Hozier’s breakout hit “Take Me to Church,” and songs from Deborah Cox, OMD, Yaz, Iron & Wine, Estelle, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran and of course, Erasure.
As always, feel free to listen to and/or subscribe to this month’s playlist via Spotify – March 2015.
Thanks as always for reading and sending me your comments. Let’s ride the wave of music until the warm weather returns to the Northeast!!
Peace…and love!!
