Sh*t You Just Can’t Make Up – Well Fox News Can…

fox news

Every now and then you hear something on TV that makes you stop and say aloud, “did I hear that right?” And thanks to DVRs and Internet clips, you can generally go back to hear what it is that literally made you stop in your tracks.

In this case, this clip comes via the Internet. It’s a “discussion” on Fox News about the Rolling Stone article about the alleged rape case at the University of Virginia that has been controversial since it was published. The scrutiny and integrity of the article came under even more fire this week, when authorities determined they had not found any evidence that the reported assault had taken place the way the accuser described it.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not excusing what appears to be a very shoddy piece of journalism. I’m just calling out the “Kings of Shoddy Journalism” [if you can even call what they do, journalism] for bashing others for doing exactly what they do 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This brings us to the clip (below) — a couch “discussion” on the reported findings on the rape allegations and how “dangerous and reckless” Rolling Stone magazine was in its reporting of the story. Honestly folks, I couldn’t make this sh*t up if you paid me!

Not only does one of the panelists attack the writer of the story by saying she was determined not to “do the complete job we learned how to do in journalism 101,” she goes on to say she takes it “personally,” and that “they didn’t just get it wrong, it was egregious.”

Oh, really??? [*cough* Benghazi]

But the absolute best moment of the clip is when Fox News’ Andrea Tantaros chimes in. She is fast becoming my favorite go-to stupid person over at Fox News, and given their talent of stupid, that’s an accomplishment.

Tantaros quickly chimes in, calling this “the most dangerous form of journalism.” [Insert laughter from the audience] She continues, “They’re just looking for stories, and if they don’t get them, then they’ll just make them up.” [Seriously, I laughed until I peed…and then I laughed a bit more]

But she wasn’t finished. Oh no. She then goes into a rant by saying, “…and I’m going to speak slowly her so all the feminist blogs can get this one, because I’m sure they’ll clip it.” [Well Andrea, I’m not a feminist, but I do want to thank you for speaking slowly. I like jokes that are told slowly. Makes them funnier]

I’m going to leave it there and post the full clip below, because it’s really worth listening to. Of course the President and his administration get dragged into the discussion, because what’s a discussion on Fox News without a total thrashing of the Obama Administration. Oh and just for sh*ts and giggles, they throw Lena Dunham under the Fox News bus of stupid as well.

It continues to amaze to me that the people on this network have the gall to call journalists into question, no matter how many times it’s proven how stupid their “reporting” makes their viewers.

As I was watching the clip I started to think, well maybe it’s the Fox News couch. After all, more stupid things are said from that couch than any place else in the world.

But that doesn’t explain the rest of the stupid on the network. I don’t think anything can.
