Calling a Spade…a Trump…at Least This Time

I’ve not mentioned Mr. Trump of much lately, because, well, what’s the point? The media seemingly can’t get enough of him, and any negative comments regarding his idiotic brash, straightforward “anti political correct” style, only seem to fall on deaf ears anyway.

Then….he insulted Megyn Kelly, and those who have been silent, lost their minds. The reaction has been somewhat mystifying [and predictable]. You would have thought it was the first time this blowhard said something that was beyond repugnant.

Don’t get me wrong…it’s nice to see some in the GOP establishment finally grow as set, albeit small, and take on Trump directly, but I’m confused…are we upset because he finally crossed the line they and the media continued to move, or are they upset because he insulted Ms. Kelly?

Granted, Trump’s “blood” comment was too outrageous for anyone, including the media to let go. They pounced, as they do when a story this easy comes their way, and continue to fall over themselves trying to get Trump on-air to “explain” his comments…as if there is as explanation for such a low-class statement.

Most of the stories I’ve read on the subject, of course focus on his comments, reference the hostile exchanges between Trump and Kelly during the Republican debate last Thursday, then…they all seem to become a profile of Ms. Kelly’s career. Now, a little background never hurts in a story, but this is what has led me to be confused as to where this story is actually going.

Trump is of course being Trump — continuing his fight against “political correctness,” or as it’s more commonly known by the rest of society, being a decent human being, in refusing to apologize for his most recent set of insensitive and stupid comments. In his warped mind, the rest of us are “deviants” for interrupting his ridiculous comment the way we did. We’re all supposed to believe he would have made the same reference to blood “coming out of her wherever” had he been talking about a male reporter.

I’m not fan of Ms. Kelly, nor can I say I’m not a fan. As Fox News hosts go, she’s certainly more tolerable than a great many of those who blow hot air on that channel. But the bottom line is she [nor any woman, for that matter] deserves to be spoken of that way, and had the media and GOP establishment taken exception to any or all of the previously ridiculously idiotic things said by Trump, maybe their monster wouldn’t be larger than life now.

So, you’ll excuse me if I don’t applaud Erick Erickson, the media and the GOP establishment, including some of the candidates running for President, who are all circling like buzzards now because they smell….blood. We’re grateful you’re finally ready to acknowledge what has been clear to many of us about this man…for decades now.

Oh and by the way…please don’t think this in any way makes up for your silence while your monster disparaged immigrants, Mexico and war veterans along the way of becoming your front runner.
