This morning, listening to Morning Joe on MSNBC, I couldn’t help but feel sad…and angry.
Sad, because during the 5 minutes I was able to listen before my satellite connection was [thankfully] lost underground, I heard how Donald Trump has “tapped into the notion/feeling of many American’s that the United States doesn’t win anymore. That Barack Obama has “won.”
Since those [very long] five minutes, I’ve struggled for a way to say what I want to say without sounding like an angry black man, because I know in part that will take away from my message. Sorry, not gonna happen.
This is a bunch of horseshit.
If Barack Obama was a white man with a name along the lines of George, Ronald, Dwight, etc., who had done half the job he in fact has, these same people would be praising the remarkable job he has done. I mean…for real…the focus of Jeb Bush’s campaign is to go back to the days when his brother was President. And Donald, well he just wants to make “America Great again.”
I listen to all of this and the only thing that makes sense is that the Republican nomination process is a mix between “Punk’D,” “The Twilight Zone” and “Desperate Housewives.”
We all know where the country was when George Bush left office. The facts are as plain as the color of my skin. The country was mired in a recession, thousands of jobs were vanishing on a daily basis, blah…blah…blah…blah…blah. This is what these idiots want to go back to — and the people who are “looking for leadership” (i.e. someone who is isn’t black (and a Muslim). They’ll be damned if they give this President credit for anything. Even those who didn’t have a job then, but do now…which is MANY OF THEM, will go to their graves before give any credit to President Obama.
Now, I’m not saying that Donald, Jeb, Marco, Ted and the other misfits are purposefully running “campaigns” of race baiting and hate, but THAT is the emotion they are tapping into. More specifically, Trump’s political incorrect tour, er, campaign, has enabled all these people who have hated the President from the day he won the election because of the color of his skin, to “speak their minds.” [Who thinks that is a good thing?]
No you may disagree with me, as is your right, but explain to me how a moron like Donald Trump, who has yet to say anything that resembles an ounce of substance other than he’s going to build a wall, and its going to be a great wall, is somehow the savior of the Republican Party, and/or the savior of the United States?
And what do we need saving from? A nation that beat back one of the worst recessions since the depression? A nation that has rebuilt its status around the world after the disaster that was the invasion of Iraq? When someone can answer those questions with thought AND FACTS, maybe then I’ll be able to understand why more people aren’t horrified at the fact that this nation is currently embracing the idea that the White House has been “stained” and needs cleaning.
But until then, I’ll continue to watch in horror and sadness over the public [political] lynching of the President of the United States, because apparently it’s become cool to take off the white sheets and speak freely.
