**Warning – strong language**
We all had hope for a victory in the Georgia 6th. As we all know by now, that hope didn’t come to pass. Meanwhile, in South Carolina, the Democrat in that race made a very strong showing. But a loss is a loss.
The simple fact is this, folks…until Democrats stop fighting among themselves and come together with a message other than Trump sucks, we could be in for a long nightmare. Don’t get me wrong, this Presidency will implode and I still expect we’ll be saying the words, “President Pence” before the 2020 election, but that doesn’t make me any more optimistic for the future of our country.
Democrats need to come down from their high perches, find some common ground on the things we all believe in and work from there. That’s how democracy works.
The people who are still pissed that Bernie LOST the nomination need to fucking get over it already. I’m sorry, but he didn’t get enough votes and lost. Stop bitching about how the DNC did this and that. The DNC may have been working against Bernie, but they didn’t stop people from going to the polls to vote for him. And they’re certainly not stopping people from going to the polls to vote for candidates he’s been throwing his support behind.
The people who are still pissed about Hillary getting SCREWED need to fucking get over that too. Yes, I was a Hillary supporter, but she ran a terrible campaign! What the fuck was she doing in Arizona the weekend before the election…having never visited Wisconsin?
Everyone wants to have their cake, be able to eat it and smash it in someone else’s face. Fine…y’all keep on that path. And while you do we’ll keep losing elections.
Yes, the party needs to evolve and become more inclusive and embrace the energy that Bernie and Elizabeth Warren have infused their supporters with. But those newcomers need to recognize that there are still many of us in the party who have been fighting for these causes all our lives and will to continue to do so. I get that some of the old guard isn’t ready to step aside yet, but we have to remember first and foremost we’re all on the same side. And as such, we need to work together.
Listen, I don’t have all the answers. And I know what I’m saying isn’t easy. But until we find a way to bring all the sectors of the party together, so everyone feels that their voice is being heard…we’re only fucking ourselves.
I continue to have faith that my party will eventually find its way.
The only question is when…
Speaking of Wisconsin…Paul Ryan has an opponent for 2018 and he just released his first campaign ad. I don’t know much about Randy Bryce, but I plan too. This ad is fantastic.
