Repartee Room

Go forth and be witty!

A place to…Converse…Be Witty…AND…R-E-S-I-S-T!

Why Do We Protest?

Why Do We Protest?
Because silence is surrender — and we are NOT surrendering.
We protest so our voices echo through the halls of power, so no one can pretend they didn’t hear us.

Why Does It Matter?
Because people are being disappeared.
Because rights and liberties are being stripped away — and if you think you’re safe just because it isn’t happening to you yet, think again.
History is screaming at us: what happens to some will happen to more.

What About Political Leaders and Parties?
They’re failing us.
Republicans are too scared of Trump to stand for what’s right.
Democrats are busy fighting each other while the ground is being ripped out from under us.
While they argue over who’s pure enough, people are losing their homes, their freedom, their lives.

Who Is Out There Fighting?
EVERYONE who’s paying attention.
Democrats. Independents. Republicans. Citizens. Immigrants. Black. White. Brown. Mixed.
Every single person who refuses to live under a government that serves billionaires instead of the people.

And it’s not just weekend rallies.
Every day, people are marching. Chanting. Demanding.
Outside courthouses, statehouses, politicians’ offices.
They are standing up — and staying loud.

Will It Work?
Change doesn’t fall from the sky. It doesn’t happen by wishing.
It happens when we make it happen.
Not from behind a screen. Not from complaining online.
From showing up. From refusing to be invisible.

But Will It Really Change Anything?
Change is slow.
But every protest, every chant, every sign waved in the air is a brick in the wall we are building to defend our rights.
Hope is not passive. Hope is active.
Together, we are stronger than the fear they want us to live under.

What About the Naysayers?
Some would rather post rage tweets than stand side by side with their neighbors.
We don’t have time for cynics. We need fighters.
Let them.

How Can You Get Involved?
Show up.
Find a rally. Find a group. Join them.
You don’t need to donate (unless you want to) — but you DO need to show up.
Stand. March. Shout.
Remind yourself and the world:
This is OUR country. These are OUR rights. And we will NOT go quietly.
