So what lesson did we learn from having two Super Bowl halftime shows? It’s not complicated. People who need something they can “claim” as exclusively theirs will never be satisfied.
The Megyn Kelly’s of the world tripped over themselves praising the so-called “All-American Halftime Show” put on by Turning Point…not because it was objectively great, but because they couldn’t stand that an internationally celebrated superstar, who they ignorantly claim isn’t American, was given the main stage.
And even after they got their own show, one they declared the greatest halftime performance ever, they still couldn’t help themselves. They had to tear down Bad Bunny’s performance.
That’s the lesson: even when you give them their own water fountain back, they won’t be happy.
Because satisfaction isn’t the goal.
The goal is tearing down what they don’t understand…and what they’re terrified of.
