Repackaging “Freedom”

There’s very little daylight between these two videos…separated by 56 years.

The first, from 1970: white marchers chanting “We want freedom” as they fought to preserve segregated schools.

The second, from Tuesday night: Republicans rising in applause as Trump proudly declared, “We got rid of DEI in America.”

The language changes.
The branding evolves.
The slogans get sanitized.

But the throughline is difficult to ignore: opposition to racial inclusion, repackaged as a fight for “freedom.”

History doesn’t always repeat itself verbatim.
It just updates the messaging.
