“The Art” of Looking Big While Being Small

Everything about Donald Trump is oversized—his claims, his ego, his grievances…because underneath all of it is someone remarkably small.

So small, in fact, that even history has to be rearranged to make him feel bigger. Hence the latest performance: constantly downplaying the Obama administration while quite literally tucking Barack Obama’s portrait into a stairwell, as if visibility itself were a threat.

It’s on point for his brand. If you can’t outdo something, just move it somewhere harder to see.

Trump has spent decades curating the image of a larger-than-life figure, but it’s always come off as gaudy gold plating…without substance and certainly without anything real underneath. Hence why I’ve always referred to his as an assclown…long before his foray into politics.

Yes, he’s divisive, immature, and bombastic. But more than anything, he’s predictable: a man so driven by grievance that even the walls have to be arranged around him.

And when that kind of insecurity is given power, it doesn’t just stay personal…it becomes policy, posture, and performance for the rest of us to endure.
