Fist pumps and ballads (Songs #7)

The countdown thus far…

10. Settle Down – No Doubt

9.  All Too Well – Taylor Swift

8.  We Found Love…Where Have You Been…Diamonds – Rihanna

The countdown continues…

Song(s) Number 7

The two songs at number 7 both have the ‘familiar…yet comfortable’ sound I spoke about when kicking off the countdown…and with good reason.

Both marked the return to the airwaves of two of the finest singer/songwriters of the past two decades.

The first dominated the airwaves in the 90’s with powerful songs that were raw yet catchy. Her look was different, her voice unique. She entered the scene with a bang then kinda faded away a bit. But her new album is quite frankly fantastic, and I for one am beyond happy she’s back.

The second dominated the airwaves for the past decade really, until she took time off to have a beautiful baby. And now she’s back. To put it mildly, she is just that damn talented. From her songs that make you fist pump to her ballads make you stop and think, she has a way of grabbing our emotions and running with them. To date, I have yet to find anyone that minds.

Songs number 7 on the countdown are Alanis Morissette’s “Havoc” and P!nk’s “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)”
