The countdown continues…..

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

As we continue the countdown, we again find multiple songs in one slot. The first is the second song in the countdown by a particular artist, while the other is the first of two songs for a group that is easily the runner-up to my artist of the year.

When introducing her first song in the countdown, I said this artist has a way of “grabbing our emotions and running with them.” Both of the songs on the countdown prove that without a shadow of a doubt. While “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” makes you want to fist pump and dance, this song makes you sway and think. It’s a beautiful ballad about taking risks with love, consequences be damned. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that the video features a strappingly handsome man. Just sayin….

The second song at number six is from a band with a different sound. I can’t really put my finger as to what the sound is, but in addition to the ‘catchy’ lyrics, their overall sound is, well “Fun” for lack of a better word. As I mentioned, this is the first of two songs for this band on the countdown, and while the second song is a bit closer to number 1, please don’t let that diminish my love for this song…the one that introduced me and the world to this band.

The songs at number six are P!nk’s “Try” and Fun. (ft. Janelle Monae) with “We Are Young.”
