We’ve reached the halfway point!

Before we continue, I just want to take a moment to say “thanks” for all the amazing feedback thus far. I really enjoy reading your comments and suggestions for songs to add to the playlist. Stick around…some of you may be surprised at how numbers 5-1 go!

After a series of “ties” song #5 stands alone. It was a song introduced to me by one of my dearest friends, who just knew I was going to love it…and she’s usually right about these things.

The group responsible for this song is a New York City-based (Brooklyn to be specific) indie rock band, with and electrical and lyrical sound of a classic 80’s New Wave band. They’re not exactly new. They’ve been around since 2008, slowly but steadily gaining momentum — all the while, receiving general praise for their works. Trust me when I say, if you haven’t heard of them before, once you watch the video below, you’ll be craving more.

Their 2012 album, “Mixed Emotions” is their first full-length studio album, and it’s where you can find Rolling Stone magazine’s song #43 of 2012…and my #5 song of the year.
