The countdown continues…

And then there were three, or more if you’re familiar with my countdowns, who knows really, lol.

There are three songs at number 3. Each song has the same number of plays in iTunes and spent a fair amount of time on my monthly playlists.

The first song…is a second song for this band on this year’s countdown. The studio version starts off a cappella, that caught my attention immediately. Everything that came after was just gravy. It really is a Fun. song, and one that cemented my love for this band.

The next song is the “quotable” song of the year. It’s a unique song that is more shtick that musical, but you can’t beat a song that gives you hours upon hours of laughs with its lyrics. Let’s face it, before this song, how many people truly knew what “MTA” stood for?

Finally we have a song by a group that is led by a woman who has an incredible voice. I first heard her voice on the Grammy’s a few years ago during a tribute to Aretha Franklin. I have been in love ever since. While she has become somewhat of a fashion icon, her voice will always be her calling card. Every year, a new song becomes my go to anthem. This was my anthem of the year.

The songs at number 3 on the countdown are “Some Nights,” “Let’s Have a KiKi,” and “Shake it Out.”
