And now….NUMBER 1!
I have to give credit when credit is due…in April of this year, my friend Eileen Shazamed this song to me on the day I was posting my April playlist. It was a few days late, as I was having trouble getting the right mix together. The song fit perfectly…so much so that nine months later…it’s still on the monthly playlist. It’s currently the second longest track to appear on my monthly playlist behind David Guetta’s “One Love,” which appeared for 14-months.
Now I have to be perfectly honest with you…while I won’t get into the details as to why, it is beyond ironic that this is my number 1 song of the year. And while my being drawn to it may be ironic, let’s not lose sight that by itself, it is a fantastic song.
The song is by an artist that I really don’t know too much about. I’ve been so fixated on this one song, that I haven’t taken the time to listen to anything else she’s done. But as I write this, I’m vowing to change that in the new year.
Before the big reveal, a final thank you to all who have followed the countdown this year and sent me your thoughts on my selections. And also for following my Blog throughout the year. I remain honored and humble that you do.

And with that…I give you my #1 song for 2014 – Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High).”
