A Deal So Perfect, JD Can Sign It?

Listening to an idiot speak can be confusing. In this instance, however, it’s more confusing for him than for the rest of us.

And let me tell you why.

In the span of just a few minutes, Donald Trump just claimed to have stopped Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon multiple times.

First, he said he stopped them when he tore up the Obama nuclear agreement.

Then he said he stopped them when he bombed them.

Now he’s claiming he’ll stop them by negotiating a new deal.

A deal, by the way, that reportedly lasts only 60 days and, as far as we know, contains no permanent prohibition on Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon. Reportedly, because no one has actually seen the text.

The reason this isn’t confusing for the rest of us is simple: when you follow facts and logic, the contradiction becomes obvious.

A person cannot repeatedly “stop” the same thing from happening in three completely different ways over the course of a few years.

The explanation isn’t complicated. The claims aren’t true. They’re simply whatever version of the story happens to be politically convenient for trump at that moment.

Oh…and one final observation.

Trump has been so obsessed with putting his name on everything that he even tried to rename a living monument to a slain President. Yet we’re somehow supposed to believe he’s comfortable allowing his Vice President to sign a historic “peace deal” on his behalf?

If that’s actually happening, it raises a question worth asking: Why would a man who craves personal credit for virtually everything suddenly step aside for what would undoubtedly be the defining diplomatic achievement of his presidency?

Either this deal isn’t nearly as significant as it’s being portrayed, or there’s far more to the story than we’re being told.

Which with Donald Trump…is ALWAYS the case.
