Hope Is a Choice

I’m generally not a revengeful person, nor do I take pleasure in seeing others unhappy.

But I can’t deny getting a little joy from watching MAGA lose their over the opening of the Obama Presidential Center today.

The images coming out of Chicago today were a reminder of something we’ve seemed to forget lately: hope is real.

People from all walks of life, world leaders, entertainers, community advocates, and everyday citizens, came together to celebrate a vision rooted in possibility, service, and optimism.

It was a joyful day.

And that’s exactly what MAGA seems to despise.

They not happy unless they’re tearing something down…an institution, a community, a public figure, or an entire group of people. Outrage isn’t a byproduct; it’s all they are about.

Why?

Because being angry is easy.

Hope takes work.

Michelle Obama spoke today about the importance of choice.

Meanwhile, on X, countless people chose to spend their day calling her a man, mocking the Center’s architecture, and complaining about the celebrities who came to celebrate.

That’s a choice.

Just as joy is a choice.

Just as hope is a choice.

All that bitterness every day…must be absolutely exhausting.
